Dubai’s Leading
Playground Equipment
Supplier
From Halo Cubic play towers to EPDM rubber surfacing, Gebal Group supplies, installs, and certifies playground equipment across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and the wider GCC. 40 years. 2,500+ completed projects. End-to-end.
Playground Equipment Built for Dubai
Every product Gebal supplies is assessed against UAE thermal cycling, UV index, and Dubai Municipality compliance requirements before it enters a specification. Here is the core playground equipment range we supply across Dubai.
Play Structures and Towers
Our multi-deck play towers are the centrepiece of most Dubai playground projects. The Halo Cubic system is our most specified tower structure, available in two volumetric configurations (693.3m³ and 146.9m³) and certified to ASTM standards for use in UAE conditions.
Our flagship multi-deck play tower. ASTM certified, UV-stabilised HDPE panels, hot-dip galvanised steel frame. Two sizes for community parks and school grounds.
→Rope domes, pyramid climbers, and bouldering panels. HDPE rope with UV stabilisation. Low thermal mass — safer for Dubai’s peak heat window.
→Large-scale freestanding net climbing systems. Modular, scalable, and designed for high-traffic community park installations across the GCC.
→Themed fort and castle play structures. Custom colourways available. Specified for schools, resort hotels, and residential community projects.
→Nature-themed play structures for early years zones. Low fall heights, enclosed panels, and soft-surface compatible bases. Fully EN 1176 compliant.
→Enclosed tube slides retain less surface heat than open stainless steel. Preferred in exposed positions across Dubai where full shade canopy is not possible.
→Musical panels, sensory boards, tactile elements, and ground-level play activities. Essential for inclusive playground design and KHDA-compliant school spaces.
→Hot-dip galvanised spring mechanisms with sand-sealed housings. UV-stabilised HDPE seats and handles. Designed to handle UAE sand ingress and thermal cycling.
→Rubber and Grass Surfacing
Surfacing is not an afterthought in Dubai. It determines whether your playground is safe, compliant, and usable. Gebal’s EPDM rubber surfacing range is specified to UAE thermal cycling requirements and installed to EN 1177 impact attenuation depth for the fall height of each structure above it.
Water Play and Splash Pads
Water play is the most effective tool for extending playground usability in Dubai’s climate. A correctly specified splash pad makes a playground usable for 9–10 months per year. Gebal’s systems include recirculating water treatment, bronze nozzle fittings for UAE water quality, and shade canopy integration as standard.
Outdoor Furniture and Site Furnishings
Seating and furniture that cannot withstand Dubai’s UV and heat are a liability. Our smart seating range includes the Yarden Bench, Yarden Chair, Flora Table, and Park Finno Sofa — all specified in anodised aluminium or marine-grade powder-coated steel with no timber in exposed applications.

Specifying Playground Equipment for Dubai’s Climate
Dubai hits 48°C in summer. Dark surfaces reach 60–75°C in direct sun. Any playground equipment supplier operating in Dubai who is not designing around that reality is selling you a liability.
Every product Gebal specifies is chosen with the UAE climate as the first filter. UV-stable materials. Marine-grade coatings for coastal zones. Anti-burn surface treatments on all contact points. Shade structure sizing and positioning resolved before a single product is selected.
Shade structures are specified first. Equipment is specified second. A playground under a well-positioned HDPE tensile canopy is usable for 10 months per year. A playground with premium equipment and no shade cover is unusable from May to September and dangerous at the peak heat window.
What Lasts in UAE Conditions
| Material | Performance in Dubai | UV Rating | Gebal Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| UV-stabilised EPDM Rubber | Retains elasticity through thermal cycling. Does not crack or shrink. | High | Standard Spec |
| UV-stabilised HDPE | Resists fade and micro-cracking. Must be correctly specified grade. | High | Standard Spec |
| Marine-grade powder-coated steel | Coating holds in coastal humidity when marine-grade spec is met. | Medium | Coastal Projects |
| Stainless steel 316 | Minimal corrosion risk. High surface heat requires shade at contact points. | High | With Shade Only |
| Anodised aluminium | Best-in-class UV and corrosion resistance. Low thermal mass. | High | Recommended |
| Untreated timber | Cracks, splinters, and degrades rapidly. Extreme maintenance burden. | Low | Not Specified |
| Non-UV-stabilised plastics | Fade and micro-crack within 12–18 months in UAE UV conditions. | Low | Not Specified |

Dubai Municipality Compliance
Non-compliance costs more than doing it right. Delayed approvals, post-handover defect liability, and failed municipal inspections are the avoidable consequences of under-specifying. Here is what Dubai’s regulatory framework requires.
| Standard / Authority | What It Governs | Applies To |
|---|---|---|
| EN 1176 (Parts 1–11) | Playground equipment design, structural integrity, fall zones, entrapment prevention | All playground installations in Dubai |
| EN 1177 | Impact-attenuating surfacing depth requirements relative to fall height | All surfacing beneath and around elevated equipment |
| Dubai Municipality (DM-H&SD-GU02-SEPA) | Technical guidelines for safety in events and play areas, shade requirements, age zoning | Public parks, school grounds, community spaces |
| KHDA Inspection Framework | Outdoor play provision, shade coverage, surfacing, accessibility for school quality ratings | All KHDA-regulated school campuses |
| Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan | Outdoor thermal comfort documentation required for new developments above size thresholds | Developers and master-planned projects |
| ISO 9001 | Quality management system for supply, installation, and aftercare | All Gebal Group projects |
Every project handover includes EN 1176 test certificates for all specified equipment, post-installation inspection report, as-built drawings, maintenance schedule, and safety signage. View our certifications.
Shade Structures: Specified First, Not Last
Dubai Municipality requires 70–80% minimum shade coverage for children’s play areas in public spaces. Our recommendation is 100% canopy coverage over all active play equipment. Gebal’s shade structure range includes HDPE tensile sail systems (90–97% UV block), steel-framed fabric canopies for larger spans, and architect-specified tensile membrane structures for premium projects.
Age-Zone Design
Age-appropriate zoning is a safety requirement under EN 1176, not a design preference. Every Gebal playground is zoned before a single product is selected. Here is the framework we use across Dubai school and community projects.
| Age Zone | Max Fall Height | Key Equipment | Critical Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under 3s | 0.6m | Ground-level sensory play, spring rockers, sand elements | 100% shade. Fully separated from older zones. |
| 3–6 Years | 1.2–1.5m | Low climbing frames, bucket swings, slides, balance elements | EPDM surfacing. Shade canopy. Bucket seat swings. |
| 6–12 Years | 2.5–3m | Multi-deck towers, rope climbers, tube slides, accessible swings | EN 1177 surfacing depth. Water play integration. |
| 12+ Years | Variable | Outdoor gym, calisthenics, pump tracks | Youth zone is the most under-served in Dubai. Don’t skip it. |
